Resort Municipality Initiative
A program started by the Province of British Columbia, the Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) helps resort communities develop greener, healthier, more sustainable resort municipalities that attract more visitors to British Columbia’s resort communities, and entice them to stay longer. RMI is funded entirely by the Province, and not subject to taxation of local residents.

The RMI local advisory committee, composed of administrators of tourism invested organizations in the community, is currently putting together a 3-year, Terms of Reference for the recently renewed program.

Snow Removal Services
Winter has arrived in Golden and that means public works staff are busy with snow removal duties to help keep you safe on the roads and sidewalks.

Streets are maintained on a priority basis to ensure public safety. Residents and businesses are encouraged to do their part to help Golden’s hard-working snow removal crew be as effective as possible!

In accordance with our Traffic, Parking and Streets Regulation Bylaw #966, businesses are required to clear the snow from the sidewalks in front of their buildings. While we are known to provide courtesy sidewalk ploughing in the commercial areas, it remains the responsibility of businesses to ensure the sidewalks fronting their building are cleared.

You can learn more and read our Snow Removal and Sanding Policy, by clicking the Residents tab on our homepage.
