halloween-party-2017.jpgOn Saturday, October 28th, the Rotary Interact Club and the Town of Golden present the annual Children’s Halloween Party at the Mount 7 Rec Plex!

The Town has again partnered with the Rotary Interact Club - a group of creative, hard-working, Golden Secondary School students who are excited to host a fang-tastic party.

“Our personal club mandate is to make a difference while having fun. We also strive to develop both relationships and skills to empower ourselves as leaders in our community,” says Interact Club President Claire Frazer. “We are excited to host the children’s Halloween party because it's important for us to make ourselves known in our community, and to especially promote youth taking responsibility. As well as giving back to the community for all the support they have shown us.”

Among the many hauntingly great events planned are an array of games, crafts and contests, including pumpkin mini golf, bean bag toss and a costume contest. In addition, there will be a haunted house and scavenger hunt.

“We hope to see lots of smiling faces and spooky costumes,” says Frazer.

The annual Halloween kids party is a community favourite,” says Jordan Petrovics, Town of Golden Manager of Recreation Services.  “This club has done some amazing work in our community and bring plenty of creatively spooky energy to the event plan.”

Boys and ghouls are encouraged wear costumes to the party and head over to the Arena afterward for a costume Public Skate!

The Children’s Halloween Party is being held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mount 7 Rec Plex and is free to attend. Costume Public Skate will be held afterwards at the Arena from 4pm. to 5pm. Regular admission rates will apply.
