Council Meetings
Council meetings will reopen to the public starting June 16. Based on the size of Council Chambers, we will be strictly limiting participants, including elected officials and staff. Seats will be spaced out to accommodate physical distancing.
For meetings that may result in larger attendance such as Public Hearings, Council meetings may be held at the Golden Civic Centre to accommodate more people. The next Council meeting to be held on June 16 will include a Public Hearing and will take place at the Golden Civic Centre at 1:15 p.m.

“We know local families are eager to return to playgrounds,” said Jordan Petrovics, Manager of Recreation Services. “It’s important for parents and visitors of parks and playgrounds to read all posted signage and adhere to the guidelines. Playgrounds are high-touch point structures and will not be disinfected or cleaned after use. Please keep this in mind when visiting these areas.”
When visiting playgrounds, please adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Playgrounds are high-touch point structures. These play areas are not disinfected or cleaned after use. Carry and use your own hand sanitizer before and after using playground equipment.
  • If the playground is busy, try another park or come back later.
  • Keep your distance (2 metres apart) and limit congregating in groups when supervising children.
  • Encourage children to avoid sharing toys or sports equipment and limit contact with people outside of their home or pandemic bubble.
  • If bringing your children's toys or sports equipment to the park, clean and disinfect before and after use.

The spray park will open by Wednesday, June 10 and will follow the same guidelines as playgrounds.
