ToG Recreation Services is looking for your feedback Print Article Font Size
feedback-image.jpgAs the winter season comes to a close, activities at the Arena and Rec Plex are beginning to wrap up for another year. As we look ahead to next season, the ToG recreation Services team is asking the community to provide feedback about programming and operations at these facilities.

Do you have ideas for improvements? Suggestions for programming? Feedback on operations?

Every year the Tog Recreation Services department asks for this feedback from Arena users which is then added to the department’s year-end report that is presented to Town Council. With a number of programs at the Rec Plex joining the Town’s drop-in program format this year, the department is asking users to complete two short feedback forms – one for the Arena and one for the Mount 7 Rec Plex.

“At both facilities we have seen some great new initiatives this year,” says Manager of Recreation Services Jordan Petrovics. “Indoor pond hockey, Silvertips and Ladies hockey all moved to the drop-in format with the Town this year. At the Rec plex, we saw great traction with the Pickleball and volleyball programs, we added a ladies basketball evening and saw visitation for core sports rise. We had a great group of volunteers who helped to facilitate these programs under our Volunteer platform.”

With so many more people out using the Town facilities this year, Petrovics says it is important and valuable for the department to get constructive feedback and engagement about the programming and operations.

“These are public facilities, so giving the public a chance to be engaged helps us to develop programming and operate the facility in a way that works for as much of the community as possible,” says Petrovics. “These short feedback forms give the public the opportunity to suggest new initiatives that can help shape the future of the Arena and Rec Plex operations.”

Petrovics notes that all feedback is shared with Council as it helps with future budget decisions and policy debates.

“The more engaged you are, the more this helps Council to make the decisions that affect the community directly.”

The feedback forms will be open from March 13, 2017 to April 10, 2017 in order to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate.
