October Recreation Schedule Print Article Font Size
Our October recreation schedule for the Golden & District Arena is now available! Fall programs at the Arena will kick off on October 2, check out the schedule below and visit golden.ca/recprograms to register!

Here’s what you need to know about attending recreation programs this fall:

Proof of vaccination:
The B.C. Government's Public Health Order requires proof of vaccination for all adults and seniors (19+) participating in recreation and sport programs. This means all adults participating in a sport and recreation programs will need to provide proof of vaccination along with a piece of photo ID.

As a municipality we are required to follow Public Health Orders and there will be no exceptions. No proof of vaccination, no entry.

For more information about BC’s proof of vaccination requirements, including how to get your BC Vaccine Card, visit gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard

Register to save time and your spot:
Pre-register for programs up to 7 days in advance and save time checking in and make sure you get a spot for your favourite program: https://www.amilia.com/store/en/town-of-golden/shop/programs

New capacity regulations are in place for fitness programs and drop-in sports, this makes sure there is more playtime and less bench time. Additional sports programs can be added to the schedule based on demand.

Programs at the Mount 7 Rec Plex
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for a fall schedule for the Mount 7 Rec Plex. The Town has received two grants to help fund over $260 thousand in upgrades and enhancements to the Rec Plex. This includes energy sustainability upgrades to the lighting and HVAC systems, accessibility upgrades with the installation of three automatic door openers, and fire system renewals. Work is set to be complete after the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Punch cards
The cheapest and most flexible way to sign-up, cancel and shift programs is by purchasing a punch card. Punch cards never expire and are valid for all recreation programs throughout the year.

Masks
Masks will be required in the common areas of recreation facilities for everyone over the age of 12.

Remember to be patient, be kind, be Golden. The health and safety of the public and our staff continues to be a top priority for our recreation facilities. Staff have been working hard over the last 18 months to continue offering recreation options to residents, while keeping our community safe.

Please note that both Provincial and Health Region requirements may change at any time.
