The Recreation Services department is looking for feedback Print Article Font Size
The Golden Arena may be closing in a few weeks, but Rec Plex programs continue to run strong!

With the many new programs added this year and as we look ahead to next season, the ToG Recreation Services team is asking the community to provide feedback about programming and operations at these facilities.

Do you have ideas for improvements? Suggestions for programming? Feedback on operations? Take our short surveys and have your say.

Every year the Recreation Services Department asks for this feedback from Arena and Rec Plex users which is then presented to Town Council.

“At both facilities we have seen some great traction on popular programs this year,” says Manager of Recreation Services Jordan Petrovics. “Indoor pond hockey, Silvertips and Ladies hockey saw great numbers this season. At the Rec plex, we saw great traction with the Pickleball - we added two extra days a week for this program! We had a great group of volunteers who helped to facilitate these programs under our volunteer platform.”

With so many more people out using the Town facilities this year, Petrovics says it is important and valuable for the department to get constructive feedback and engagement about the programming and operations.

“These short feedback forms give the public the opportunity to suggest new initiatives that can help shape the future of the Arena and Rec Plex operations,” says Petrovics, adding that all feedback is shared with Council as it helps with future budget decisions and policy debates. “The more engaged you are, the more this helps Council to make the decisions that affect the community directly.”

The feedback forms will be open until March 26, 2018 in order to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate.

The survey is easy! Just a few simple questions with the opportunity for open ended feedback as well. Complete yours today by clicking on the following links.

The Golden Arena will be wrapping up operations for the 2017/2018 season on March 18, 2018. ToG Recreation Services would like to invite residents to send off the winter season at the last public skate of the year on Sunday March 18th at 4 p.m.

“We would love to see kids of all ages come out to help us celebrate the end of another great season at the Arena at our last Public Skate of the year,” says Manager of Recreation Services Jordan Petrovics. “We encourage residents to stay for Kids Puck and Stick Play after the public skate. Both of these arena programs are designed to serve all members of the community by encouraging families and friends to come out and play together!”
