Phase 1 repair work on the Pedestrian Bridge Print Article Font Size

Beginning this week, International Timber Frames Inc. and sub-contractor Jackson Contracting & Excavating will begin mobilizing materials to begin Phase 1 of the repairs to the Pedestrian Bridge.

Phase 1 work involves the construction of in-stream jacking pads to be used for eventual lifting and support of the structure during repairs. This will require temporary stockpiling of blast-rock downstream of the bridge on both sides of the river for eventual placement into the river under the bridge.

To accommodate these construction activities, there will be intermittent daytime closures of the dike pathways from 7th St N and 7th St S to the Pedestrian Bridge including the 8th Ave access to the bridge. The bridge may also be subject to intermittent closures while this work is ongoing.

Phase 1 work (construction of jacking pads) will be complete by August 31st. Phase 2 work (bridge structural repairs) will begin near the end of September.

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
