What is proposed?

The purpose of proposed Town of Golden Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1412, 2019 – Distillery and Liquor Store is to amend the Zoning Bylaw to add the permitted use of craft manufacturer to the bylaw in order to allow for a craft distillery and other manufacturers of craft alcoholic beverages in the Mixed Use Commercial - C2 and General Commercial – C3 zones. Also, to clearly state a liquor store is permitted in the Mixed Use Commercial - C2 and Highway Corridor Commercial – C4 zones. 

The Town of Golden and the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch have received an application for a Manufacturer License and  Lounge / Special Event Area Endorsement Applications and Outdoor Patio application for 591300 BC Ltd. operating as Mount 7 Spirits located at 616 - 8th Avenue North in Golden. The occupant load is capped at 100 occupants (total) with a maximum of 42 occupants on the patio. The proposed hours are Monday to Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. and Sunday noon – 1:00 a.m. and the patio will close at 11:00 p.m.

Background material may be viewed at the Town Hall from Monday, February 4th, 2019 to Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday (note Tuesdays Town Hall opens at 9:30 am) and excluding holidays.

How can I give feedback?

Anyone who considers themselves affected by the proposed application and wishes to register an opinion may do so:

a) By forwarding written submissions for Council consideration (attention of the Manager of Legislative Services) by post (P.O. Box 350, Golden B.C. V0A 1H0) or by email to viv.thoss@golden.ca (only emails sent to this email address will form part of the Council Agenda). Any submissions must be received by 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday, February 14th, 2019; and / or

b) By appearing before Council at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 at 1:15 pm at the Town Hall Council Chambers (810 9th Ave South).
