Dike Project Update: Winter 2020/21 Print Article Font Size
Crews are wrapping up work on the Kicking Horse River Dike Improvement Project for the winter season. Over the last four months, crews have completed the construction of the flood protection wall and earthen dike work at various locations along the dike throughout town. Over the winter, there will be no public access along the back alley adjacent to downtown, however the parking lots on the north and south side of the alley will be reopened.
Next spring, crews will return to the site to finish backfilling the alley, replacing riprap along the river and to complete the landscaping and beautification elements of the project. The project is set to be completed by July 2021. For more information on the project, visit golden.ca/dikeproject.
