Listed here are groups that provide sport and recreation opportunities open to all ages in Golden BC.

A-Muse Troupe - A community circus practice and performance group. Our membership is always open and has seen over 40 different people involved over the years. We practice once per week and develop new skills. We bring in expertise for elsewhere for additional training. We perform in a number of different settings: Masque Parade, Town of Golden New Years, Kicking Horse Resort activities, our own shows such as Cabaret, Live Kicks, outside festivals, the Spirit Fair and Fall Fair to name a few. Dogtooth Climbing Gym - Indoor rock climbing for all ages and ability.  You will find Top rope and lead climbing, plus a separate bouldering cave.  With a wide range of courses instructors are able to get the novice climber gripped on the sport in no time.  For the younger climber the gym holds regular climbing clubs and Spring/Summer climbing camps. French Clubs – Provide experiences that support and enrich the learning of French language and culture by promoting the use of language, strengthening language skills, and having fun in French. French Clubs for children meet once a month for arts & crafts, songs, play, games, circus and "théâtre" activities. Golden Cycling Club - Promoting and advocating the sport of mountain biking in the Golden area.  The Club does this primarily through the development of new trail infrastructure and the maintenance of existing trails but also endeavors to provide social events and skill training. It is also actively involved in partnerships with the Province of BC, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the Town of Golden.  In order to improve and maintain trails and pump track, the Club hosts volunteer days throughout the cycling season. These volunteer days are seen as social events as well as work parties.  Each spring the Club puts on an Events Night meant to inform the public about club activities and raise the club's profile. Golden Farmers Market – The Golden Farmers Market is your source for fresh vegetables, bread, pies, handmade artisan products such jewelry, soap, wood carvings and much more.  In the summer months the market is hosted Wednesday afternoons at the CP Parking Lot (beside the Chamber office).  The market also hosts various special markets in places like Spirit Square and the Mount 7 Rec Plex.  For details on upcoming markets and how to become a vendor; Contact - Website -

Golden Figure Skating Club - Figure skating is one of the most popular sports in the world today. In Canada more than six million people lace up skates every year, and there are many winter celebrations that feature figure skating. Through the inclusive programming we offer, we encourage people to become involved and stay involved for life. CanSkate is our entry-level program where basic skating skills are taught to children, youths and adults. After mastering the basics there are many options available. Skaters who wish to challenge their figure skating skills and who show potential as competitive skaters can participate in the Competitive Skate program. Contact: 250-344-5656

Golden Museum & Archives - Offering a wide variety of programs and services including: A photographic collection of over 7,000 images, the Golden Newspapers from 1891 to the present, family files for people working on genealogy project. History Summer Camp program for kids runing Monday thru Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, 6 weeks each summer. School programs that incorporate the Brisco Schoolhouse and teaching in the classroom. Community education programs, such as genealogy classes. Golden Nordic Ski Club Society  - GNSC - The GNSC aims to offer members with world-class ski trails that create a sense of awe through excellent grooming, (wonderful views), and trails for all levels of experience. The GNSC is a registered non-profit organization with a purpose to develop and promote cross-country skiing in the Golden District by making it affordable, family oriented, inclusive, educational and a world class Nordic skiing experience.  With over 33 km of groomed classic and skating trails at Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre (13 km outside of Golden) and 6 km of classic track set trails at the Golden Golf Course (6 km outside of Golden), the club offer a world-class cross-country skiing experience to beginner and expert skiers alike.  Contact - Joan Dolinsky: Website 
Golden Shotokan Karate Society - Martial arts training is a great way to increase ones fitness level, self- confidence and personal esteem.   The training is in a group setting with interaction between students in a spirit of mutual respect.  Opportunities exist to engage similar training in a number of tournaments and instructional seminars in an almost infinite number of countries and cities as we are members in good standing in the International Shotokan Karate Federation.  Contact - Bruce McMahon: Website -

Special Olympics BC Golden - SOBC- Golden offers a wide variety of year round physical activity for athletes. From Winter sports such as Nordic Skiing ,Snowshoeing to spring summer and fall activities such as Bocce, Bowling ,Swimming ,Soccer, Golf  and a FUNDAMENTALS activity program.
